Privacy policy
Last updated October 21, 2026
This privacy policy explains how Lifeshare Global Inc. (“LifeShare”, “we”, “us” or “our”) collects, uses, shares and protects information when you use the LifeShare mobile app for Android and iOS (the “App”) and the lifesharemobileapp.com website (the “Website”). It also summarizes our child safety standards, which are set out in full at lifesharemobileapp.com/child-safety.
Questions, requests and reports go to info@lifesharemobileapp.com.
Who can use LifeShare
LifeShare is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account or use the App. See Children’s privacy and Child safety standards below.
Information we collect
Information you give us
- Account details: first and last name, username, email address and, if you set one, a password. We store your password only in hashed form, never as plain text.
- Profile details you choose to add: phone number, city, state and country (picked from a list), a profile photo and a short bio.
- Sign in with Apple (iOS): if you use it, we receive your Apple account ID and the name and email address you choose to share (Apple lets you hide your email). We don’t receive your Apple password.
- Google or Facebook sign-in: if your account was created with Google or Facebook (for example in an earlier version of the App), we keep the account ID, name and email address we received from that service.
- Content you create: live broadcasts, live chat messages, direct messages and the photos, videos, audio and files you attach, posts, comments, likes, and broadcasts you choose to save to your channel.
- Connections and reports: the people you connect with or block, and any reports you send us about other users or broadcasts.
- Invitations: the phone numbers or email addresses of people you choose to invite (see Contacts).
- Website waitlist: if you join the waitlist on the Website, your email address and what you’re interested in, plus the website or campaign link that sent you to us, if there was one.
- Messages to us: anything you send to our support email.
Information collected when you use the App
- Screen and microphone, only while you broadcast: when you start a broadcast and accept your phone’s screen-sharing prompt, the App captures your screen and your microphone and streams them live (see Live broadcasts). Nothing is captured when you aren’t broadcasting.
- Camera and photos, when you choose: to take or pick a profile photo, or attach a photo or file to a post or message.
- Device information: a device identifier and device type (used to keep your account signed in on one device) and a push notification token.
- Purchases: if you subscribe, records of your subscription (product, transaction or order IDs, purchase and renewal dates and the purchase receipt) so we can confirm it. Payment is handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store; we never see your card details.
- Diagnostics and usage: crash reports and app usage events collected through Google Firebase (Crashlytics and Analytics).
Information collected when you visit the Website
When you visit the Website, we count the visit: the page, the site you came from, your device type and browser, and your approximate city, using a random ID kept in your browser so we can tell repeat visits apart. We don’t use cookies for this, don’t store your IP address, and don’t sell or share this data.
We also use Google Analytics to understand how the Website is used: the pages you view, the site you came from, your device type and browser, and your approximate location. It sets first-party cookies (named _ga) to tell repeat visits apart. Google signals and ad personalization are turned off, so this data isn’t used for advertising. You can block these cookies in your browser or use Google’s opt-out add-on.
What we don’t collect
We don’t collect your precise location, date of birth, gender or payment card numbers, and we don’t use advertising identifiers to personalize ads or track you. The App doesn’t ask for location permission.
Live broadcasts
- Broadcasts are streamed live through Agora, a live-video service, to the viewers who can see your broadcasts in the App. Viewers see your name, username and profile photo. While you watch a broadcast, your name, username and profile photo appear in its viewer list.
- Broadcasts are not recorded unless you choose to save them. Subscribers are asked whether to save a broadcast to their channel. If you say yes, the broadcast is recorded and kept in your channel until you delete it or your account is deleted.
- Live chat during a broadcast passes through Google Firebase, which clears it when the broadcast ends. We also keep a copy of broadcast chat messages on our servers.
- Anything on your screen while you broadcast, including notifications and other apps you open, is visible to your viewers. Stop the broadcast before opening anything private.
Contacts
If you use “invite friends”, the App asks for permission to read your contacts so you can pick who to invite. Your contact list stays on your phone. Only the phone numbers or email addresses you select are sent to us. For a phone number, the App opens your own messaging app with an invitation you can send; for an email address, we send the invitation by email, including your name. If a number or address you invite already belongs to a LifeShare user, we send that person a connection request from you instead; for an email address, we also email them the request with your name. You can decline contacts permission and still use the rest of the App.
How we use information
- To create and run your account, sign you in, and provide broadcasts, chat, posts, connections and subscriptions.
- To send invitations you ask us to send, password reset codes and push notifications.
- To confirm subscriptions with Google Play or the App Store.
- To keep LifeShare safe: review reports, remove content, block abuse and enforce our terms and child safety standards.
- To fix crashes and understand how the App is used so we can improve it.
- To show non-personalized ads in the App (see Ads).
- To meet legal obligations and respond to lawful requests.
We don’t sell your personal information.
Who we share information with
We share information only with the services that run LifeShare for us, with other users as the App works, and when the law requires it:
- Agora (live streaming and saved-broadcast recording): your broadcast video and audio, and the broadcast’s channel name and ID.
- Google Firebase (live chat, viewer lists, push notifications, crash reports and analytics): live chat messages and viewer details (name, username, profile photo), notification content and your push token, crash data and usage events.
- Google AdMob (ads in the App): the device and app information needed to show non-personalized ads.
- OpenAI (automated content moderation): the text of post titles, comments, chat messages and profile fields, to detect harmful content (see Content moderation).
- Apple: when you use Sign in with Apple on iOS.
- Facebook (Meta) and Google sign-in software: the App still includes Facebook’s and Google’s sign-in software, but both sign-in options are switched off, so you can’t sign in with them. Facebook’s automatic app events and advertising-ID collection are turned off.
- Google Play and the Apple App Store: to process and confirm subscriptions.
- Amazon Web Services: our servers and database run on AWS.
- Our email provider: to send password reset codes, email invitations and connection-request emails.
- Google Analytics: usage data from Website visits, including your IP address and browser details, which Google uses to work out your approximate location (see how Google uses data from sites that use its services).
- Supabase: stores Website waitlist sign-ups and Website visit counts in the database behind our team dashboard. Your browser sends these straight to Supabase, so it also sees your IP address and browser details.
- Vercel: hosts the Website, so it sees your IP address and browser details when you visit. It also works out your approximate city from your IP address for our visit counts; we receive the city, not the IP address. The Website’s fonts are served from our own site.
- Other LifeShare users: your name, username, profile photo, bio, posts and comments are visible to other users, saved broadcasts are visible to the people you chose when you posted them (your friends, or everyone for a Global broadcast), and messages go to the people you send them to. When you open a chat, the other person can see that you’ve read their messages in it.
- Law enforcement and safety: when required by law, to protect someone’s safety, and to report child sexual abuse material (see Child safety standards).
- A new owner: if LifeShare is sold or merged, information would move with it under this policy.
These providers handle information to provide their services to us, under their own privacy policies.
Ads
The App shows ads from Google AdMob. On both Android and iOS the ads are non-personalized: they’re based on the app and the general context, not on a profile of you. The App doesn’t use your device’s advertising ID or Apple’s advertising identifier (IDFA) to personalize ads, and doesn’t track you across other companies’ apps or websites.
Content moderation
To keep LifeShare safe, the text of post titles, comments, chat messages (including live broadcast chat) and profile fields (name, channel name and bio), and the title and description of a web page you link in a post, is checked by OpenAI’s moderation service when you send or save it, to detect harmful content such as harassment, hate, threats and sexual content. Text that is flagged isn’t posted, and you’re told why. If the service is unavailable, text is saved without the check. Only the text is sent, not your name, email or account details. OpenAI doesn’t use data sent to its API to train its models, and its documentation lists no retention of the text sent to its moderation service (OpenAI: your data; OpenAI privacy policy). Photos and live broadcasts aren’t checked automatically; you can report them in the App.
How long we keep information
- We keep your account information and content while your account is open.
- When you delete content, such as a saved broadcast, post or message, we remove it from the App.
- When you delete your account, we delete your account information and content as soon as you confirm (see Deleting your account). A short record that the account was deleted, with no profile details, is removed within 30 days, and copies in our database backups are removed within 90 days.
- Reports you filed, or that others filed about your account, are kept after the account is deleted, to keep LifeShare safe and to act on safety reports, including reports of child sexual abuse material.
- We may keep limited information longer when the law requires it or to resolve disputes.
- Waitlist sign-ups are kept until LifeShare launches or you ask us to remove them.
Deleting your account
You can delete your account and its data at any time:
- In the App: open Settings and tap Delete account, then enter the 6-digit code we email you.
- On the web: at lifesharemobileapp.com/delete-account, with a code emailed to the address on your account. You don’t need the App installed.
- By email, if you can’t use either: write to info@lifesharemobileapp.com from the email address on your account with the subject “Delete my account”.
Deleted as soon as you confirm: you’re signed out on every device, and we delete your profile (name, channel name, email, phone number, location, bio and photo), your posts with their photos, videos, comments and likes, your comments and likes on other posts, your chats with their messages, reactions and files, your broadcasts, their viewers and live chat and any saved recordings, your connections, requests, blocks, invitations and notifications, and your subscription records and notification token.
Kept: reports you filed, or that others filed about your account, to keep LifeShare safe. A short record that the account was deleted, with no profile details, is removed within 30 days. Copies in our database backups are removed within 90 days.
Deleting your account doesn’t cancel a subscription bought in Google Play or the App Store; cancel it there.
Your choices and rights
- Profile: you can view and change your profile details in the App.
- Permissions: you can allow or deny contacts, camera, photos and microphone access in your phone’s settings. The screen-sharing prompt appears every time you start a broadcast.
- Notifications and ads: you can turn off push notifications in your phone’s settings. Ads in the App are never personalized (see Ads).
- Access, correction and deletion: you can ask us for a copy of your information, to correct it or to delete it by emailing us. Depending on where you live, including California and the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, you may have further rights, such as to object to or restrict how we use your information. We’ll respond within the time the law requires, and we won’t treat you differently for using these rights.
How we protect information
The App talks to our servers over encrypted connections (HTTPS), passwords are stored only in hashed form, and access to our servers and database is limited to the people who run LifeShare. The video and audio of live broadcasts are encrypted in transit. Saved broadcasts are kept in private storage and play only for the people the broadcast was shared with (your friends, or everyone for a Global broadcast), through links that expire after a short time. Photos and files are stored at web addresses that anyone who has the address can open without signing in, so treat those links as public and share them with care. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information, we’ll notify you as the law requires.
Where information is stored
LifeShare is run from the United States, and our servers are in the United States. If you use LifeShare from another country, your information is transferred to and stored in the United States, where data protection laws may differ from yours.
Children’s privacy
LifeShare is only for people aged 18 and over. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we learn that someone under 18 has an account, we will close it and delete their information, except what we must keep to act on a safety report or as the law requires. If you believe a child is using LifeShare, tell us at info@lifesharemobileapp.com.
Child safety standards
LifeShare has zero tolerance for child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE), including child sexual abuse material (CSAM). This is a summary; our full standards are at lifesharemobileapp.com/child-safety.
- Prohibited: creating, sharing, streaming, requesting or linking to sexual content involving anyone under 18; grooming, sexualizing or sexually exploiting minors; sextortion; and any attempt to contact a minor for sexual purposes. Anyone under 18 is not allowed on LifeShare.
- How to report: in the App, report a live broadcast with the flag icon in its chat panel, or press and hold a message, post or comment, or open a profile’s menu, and tap Report; choose the “Child safety” reason. If you can’t use the App, email info@lifesharemobileapp.com with the subject “Child safety”. If a child is in immediate danger, contact local law enforcement first.
- What we do: we review reports promptly, remove violating content, close the accounts involved, keep the evidence the law requires, and report apparent CSAM to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the relevant authorities.
- The law: we comply with the child safety laws that apply to us, including reporting CSAM as required by law, and we cooperate with law enforcement investigations.
- Child safety contact: Lifeshare Global Inc., info@lifesharemobileapp.com. This contact can speak to our child safety practices and compliance.
Changes to this policy
We’ll update this policy when our practices change and change the date at the top. If a change is significant, we’ll tell you in the App before it takes effect.
